The Hibernation Sessions

A membership for the Winter Months

The Hibernation Sessions are a carefully held and curated series of at home practices to cocoon, withdraw and lean into all that winter has to offer us. The Hibernation Sessions will be led by Anna Hodgart, Suzi Cook, Annie Faichney, Demelza Feltham and Lewis Cook. 

As the days get shorter and the nights darker, we often experience a tension in the juggle of our busy day to day lives, the jostling and striving for outcomes, efficiency, action - with the deep body call of hibernation, slowness, still and languid space. We like to pretend winter isn’t happening - to grit our teeth and push through it. But winter is a particular and transformative time that deserves to be experienced fully. A time of moving inwards, of carving out, inky darkness, fire ember shiftings, and all that lies in our depths and stillnesses. In these sessions we invite you to connect fully to the body’s urge to be slow, still, to become fallow - and in doing so - to create space for something new. 


Our resistance to winter means that it’s also a time of year that is really easy to get depleted, burnt out, ill, sad and stressed. So the Hibernation Sessions will also act as a resource and community for these times - and we’ll explore practices, writings and teachings that show us how to live well. Finding in that darkness - lightness, ease, tenderness, pleasure and hope.


The Hibernation Sessions membership includes:

A weekly live online practice.

Alternating Sunday and Thursday evenings and also recorded and made available afterwards encompassing: soothing meditation, pranayama, yin yoga, restorative yoga, yoga nidra, soundbaths, journalling, poetry reading, and ritual.

A monthly newsletter with readings, try at home practices, playlists and soundscapes that promotes rest and health in the darkest part of the year

The Hibernation Sessions is offered as a rolling subscription of £25 per month (cancellable any time) or a one off payment of £100. Online practices also available as a drop in for £10. 


Here’s what the first month of the membership will look like. 


Week 1: Thursday 26 October, 7pm - 8.30pm. 

Opening the Hibernation Sessions. Hour and half practice with Anna, Annie and Suzi. An opening ritual, sankalpa setting, slow flow movement and yoga nidra.


Week 2: Sunday 5 November, 7pm - 7.30pm

Embodied movement, meditation and winter poetry with Anna.


Week 3: Thursday 9 November, 7pm-8pm

Restorative yoga: nourishing the subtle body with Annie. 


Week 4: Sunday 19 November, 7pm-7.30pm

Yoga Nidra: the practice of psychic sleep with Suzi
